Pekalp Designers and Manufacturers of sofa and sofa beds are known for flair and innovation. It was this innovation that put Pekalp on the first wrap around cover of Cabinet Maker. Established in December 1989 the company has quickly outgrown two premises and has just relocated to a freehold 30,000 ft factory in Leyton. Design has always been paramount with Pekalp and has been a factor in their close liaison with most of the leading fabric houses. All of Pekalp's 22 designs are available in any of 2,000 fabric ranges and most are available in any of Pekalp's 5 leather ranges. Added to this, a customer's own materials service is in place and constitutes 30 per cent of Pekalp's business. To add to their flexibility, Pekalp offer a customised service to their entire range of furniture. Changes in height, depth and length can be arranged to customer specification. Most designs in the upholstery are available with fibre, foam or feather fillings. Many of the designs in the range are available in washable loose cover as well as luxury leather. All frames are made on site in Pekalp's mill by experienced frame makers using hardwoods only ( renewable European beech ) Each frame contains up to 150 strengthening dowels, heavy duty pins and wood glue. So confident of the quality and construction of their frames are Pekalp that they guarantee them for 5 years. Most of the designs are available in three sofabed sizes: large 3-seater 140cm (4' 6"), small 3-seater 120cm (3' 10") and 2-seater 100cm (3' 2"). Contract business is important for Pekalp as their high quality and great flexibility with respect to product and delivery deadlines is highly valued by the contractor. A new showroom was recently completed and Pekalp look forward to welcoming existing and new customers to view their ranges in comfort.
